The lines in this shot are the tree trunks. I thinks this works well because the trees are spread out and straight.

The Oglala concept of tiospaye, or the unity of the extended family, means that homes are often overcrowded, especially with the severe housing shortage on the reservation. I like this photo because it amazes me how so many people can fit in such a small area.

I think its clever how the photographer has captured the image because the divers must have been moving very quickly. I like the black and white effect on the image and the way the camera has been angles.

After intense communication with the spirits, participants emerge from a steaming Inipi, or purification (sweat) lodge. i like this photo because of the bright colours. i like the way the rainbow comes across where the people are staying. This is a good picture because of the things the photographer has included.

This photo shows a huddle of penguin returning to their young to feed them. They go for weeks on end to collect food. I like this photo because i like penguins and the scenory is beautiful. I like the way the colour of the clouds lighten and match with the ice.
